Fri-Sun Oct 11-13/13 Jamila Salimpour Format Workshop presented by Eighth Wonder, taught by Jamila's daughter, Suhaila Salimpour. This 3-day intensive workshop will take you through the original work of Jamila Salimpour. Her teaching in the 60's and 70's, led to an explosion of interest in Belly Dance in the Bay area and throughout North America, and her work ultimately birthed what is now known as Tribal Style Belly Dance in North America. This year is the 50th anniversary of her original show, Bal Anat, and as such, her contribution to dance is being recognized in both the belly dance communities and the contemporary dance world.
